I went with the Zalman fans because they use a true Matsushita-patent fluid dynamic bearing. I have a 120mm to use as a side fan but never installed it. They are fairly quiet but obviously more audible than just a PSU fan running like the OEM config.

They are connected directly to my PSU and run at full speed. I ended up buying a couple of Zalman Ultra quiet fans (92mm) for a front supply/rear exhaust setup. Thanks for any advice!ĮDIT: Here is a video that gives a good look at my case

Before doing this, I figured I would get some opinions on here as to what fans to install and where. I am thinking about just installing that fan on the side cover since it should provide a decent volume of air flow and is considerably more quiet than a 92mm fan. I also have a Cougar 120mm PWM fan sitting on my desk. My case is top mount for the PSU and this PSU has a downward facing 120mm fan that moves a decent amount of air. When I installed my GPU, I upgraded the PSU to an Antec Earthwatts Platnium 550. My motherboard has one 4 pin case fan connection. My case gives me the option of mounting a rear 92mm exhaust fan, lower 92mm front intake fan AND there happens to be ventilation holes drilled into the side cover that conveniently line up enough to install a 120mm side intake fan. I would like to keep my build as quiet as possible. Unfortunately, ASUS omitted any case fans from the original build and I would like to add at least one fan. I am using this computer as my gaming rig and, while gaming, it gets decently hot around the location of my SSD. I have an ASUS M32cd (i5 6400, 16GB ram, 1TB SSD, GTX950, 550W Antec Platnium PSU).
